Official Monroe Contacts

This privately run reference site is not a government office. It cannot confirm custody, arrange a release, post bond, or retrieve an official booking record. Contact the agency or clerk that controls the record instead.

Custody and Record Offices

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department is the local route for sheriff-created records and custodian questions. Because county-directory details can vary, confirm the intended records recipient and electronic delivery method before sending time-sensitive mail.

Union, WV 24983

Ask for the current records custodian or non-emergency records route.

Current regional-jail custody is handled through the WVDCR jail search. Southern Regional Jail and Correctional Facility, which serves Monroe County, lists 1200 Airport Road, Beaver, WV 25813 and 304-256-6726. The facility or WVDCR can identify the current process for a regional-jail intake record or image.

Where to Direct a Question

Use the office that owns the information. A local report, current custody entry, court document, and federal custody result are different record types.

  • Use the county record routes for official custody, recent admissions, and a purpose-neutral booking-record request.
  • Use the Magistrate Record Search for free case-information follow-up, then contact the clerk for documents.
  • For Monroe magistrate records, contact Clerk Jeanne Gullette at PO Box 4, 500 Main Street, Union, WV 24983, 304-772-3321.
  • Use WV PASS for public circuit-case information and its stated document limits.
  • Use the WVDCR prison search only for state-prison custody, not a current Monroe booking.
  • Use the BOP locator or ICE locator only for the separate federal or immigration custody systems.

For a records request, identify the person, approximate date, facility, and any available case or booking identifier. Ask whether the office is the custodian, request electronic delivery if available, and request a fee estimate. West Virginia Code §29B-1-3 supplies the public-record framework. No Monroe-specific booking-photo fee or form was verified in the research.
